By taking the time to combine a golf exercise program with your basic golf swing training you are likely to see results in your game that could be described as miraculous. When you consider the outstanding performances being put in by up and coming golfers like the Song sisters, Ty Tyron and Michelle Wie you can see that they are seeing some great results in their game through the training methods they are using.
Of course there has been plenty of discussion about why these players are having so much success with their golf swing and the interesting thing is that in many cases the assumptions made as to why they are playing as well as they are are just not true. For example a common belief is that these younger golfers perform better and respond better to golf swing basics taught because of their flexibility and this is simply not the case.
The difference between younger golfers and adults is usually strength and not flexibility. Coaches who have worked with hundreds of junior golfers have watched in amazement as after a very short period of time of doing strength exercises they have seen an improvement in their driving distance of 50 yards or more. However a quick word of caution, using the wrong strength training golf exercise programs can actually damage a golfers golf swing instead of improving their game.
The fact is that simply focusing on training the golf swing without using a golf specific exercise program is not going to improve one’s game as well as combining your golf swing training with an exercise program designed to help you build strength in your golf specific muscles. While you may see some improvement by focusing on your golf swing you will see much larger benefits if you include golf specific exercises into the mix too.
So take the time to work with golf exercises as well as your golf swing and I can guarantee that your golf game will improve in leaps and bounds, and probably far more quickly than you would ever have imagined. By doing so you will find that the improvements that you have made in your golf swing will be far easier to replicate out on the course hole after hole and you will enjoy playing your next rounds far more than before.
